Perfect TAN: Face Tanning

A Face. What is our major business car? Yes, our major business card is our FACE. We can like that fact or don't like but life is life. When we tan we should take top attention to the face area. Why? There are several reasons:
1. our face is the most exposed area of our body to the sun. Because it is exposed to the sun not only when we taking sun bathes, but it is exposed to the sun every time we "see" the sun and we are not in the shade. That can be when we walk on the street, when we drink a cup of coffee in the street cafe, when we walk with our pets.
2.our face is a very fragile thing, it is the first part of our body that shows signs of ageing (especially eye area)
3. it can be easily burnt (especially nose part).

We need to protect our faces and here is how to get a nice tanned face and minimize ageing risk:

1. As I wrote in the first article of PERFECT TAN series: you should use face scrub at least 2 times a week.
My recommendation is CLINIQUE Exfoliation Scrub.

2. It is essential to use sun protector cream for the face. And my recommendation is to use it in summer time not only when you go tanning but just as your daily cream. I always recommend Lancaster tanning products as they give very special tan color. Their "patented" golden one. When I was young I have always thought that  the smaller SPF (sun protection factor) product you use - the better and deeper sun tan you will have. I WAS COMPLETELY WRONG! Especially when it is face thing!. As I wrote before our face is exposed to the sun even when we walk along the street, not just when we tan and we risk to have TOO DEEP tan on or face. NEVER use sun protection products for the face with SPF below 15 (by the way the only SPF that can help prevent cancer). Also it is important to use sun protection cream with anti-ageing ingredients.  So in my opinion is Lancaster Precious Sun.
The second best is Lancaster Sun Beauty Care Active Anti-Age.

Or alternatively you can use MJP (Methode Jeanne Piaubert) MJP SUNCARE Anti-Ageing Facial Sun Cream.

3. Lips and Eyes are very sensitive areas and we need a special protection for them. Lancaster manufactures LANCASTER Age Control Eyes and Lips cream with SPF30. It is very important to use for eyes and lips extremely high SPF products as eyes and lips skin is very fragile and becomes very fast dry and because of that gets older and wrinkles appear much more faster. Of cause we do not want that!
A quick tip: I know it is not easy to find sun protective eye cream, but there is a solution (maybe a better one than special eye cream): you can MIX your regular eye cream with face sun protection cream and you will get  a perfect product (but do not mix gels with creams) . My recommendation for eye cream is Methode Jeanne Piaubert Suprem Advance eye cream. It perfectly mixes with Lancaster products.

4. When you face tans, try to lift your care as much as possible, so that there will be no white "marks" ander your hair ( you should use any kind of bands for holding your hear)

5. After SUN: Always wash your face and apply after sun cream after sun bathing. That can be a special product like Lancaster Tan Maximizer ( you should use it at least for a week if you want to see the result and it worth the wait) or just your regular day or night cream.

6. use at least every second day a facial mask that moisturizes hydrates your skin. My personal recommendation is the use of Crystal Collagen masks, like the one on the picture. You can quite cheaply buy it on ebay and they make miracles. You can use it 2-3 times, just put back it in the fridge. On the 2nd - 3rd time it will completely dissolve on you face!!!

Keep up reading! Next article will be about body protection

  1. awesome. you are right on that our face is our first business card! I sometimes buy things just because i like how the sales person look. LOL.

You've listed some good products here. But don't just tan your face, it will be awfully funny to have a tan face and a pale body.

  3. I also heard from my girl that exfoliating regularly can help achieve a perfect tan. She actually has that Clinique bottle. These tips are very useful for me because I will be trying out tanning this month with my girl.
