Weight Loss: My First Diet

It was back in April 1998, I gained weight and was 63 kg (139 lbs)instead of my usual 55kg (121 lbs.). In the mid of May we had our university Gala (Prom) and I wanted to look back top notch. I had no knowledge about weight loss and I had virtually no time. Just 3 and a half weeks and I was studying.
It was time when internet was not so common, so it was not so easy to find any readymade diet. To visit a doctor? When your height is 168 centimetres (5.51 ft) and weight 63 kg (139 lbs), no doctor will advise you any diet, just because you look so much better than most people on the street.
So I was left only with one and only thing…just to listen to my body. Now 13 years have passed since that moment and I am really surprised how right I was at the moment.
I was lucky that year with my diet, as we had short holidays at the end of April – beginning of May, so that I could spend some time to weigh loss and not just studies. But I was lucky not just because of that, but I was lucky because it was a nice warm sunny weather those days.
What thoughts came to my mind? 1. I need some sport activity to burn the calories. 2. I need to cut my calories intake and….3. Maybe the sun can help me?
I honestly can tell you that I was absolutely right with the ideas and how I did everything.
1.       As a calorie burning activity I chose the best, the cheapest and the best for the health one, furthermore it was useful too. What is it? WALKING!!! Walking a lot helps to burn calories (not just calories but FAT), it is the most natural sports activity, since human left trees.  When you walk you can see a lot of things, you can even visit some shop and buy for (or anything else), so you save your time somehow. If you have a dog you can do walking with your dog (both good for you and your dog). And you can save on transportation costs. I was living rue Passy 16, that is next to Jardins du Trocadero in Paris and my walking rout was to Palais Royal (not far from Louvre). It usually took me less than 1 hour to walk there, enjoy my favourite gardens of Palais-Royal with its fountain and then walk back home and buy some food stuff along the way.
2.       How did I cut my calorie intake? My diet food.
Breakfast: a cup of tea or coffee with normal yoghurt (I prefer a cherry or coco flavour) , sometimes I ate 1 pain au chocolat or 1 croissant.
Lunch: my vegetable salad. You can prepare it in different way , but it has very important ingredients in it. My next post will be how to prepare it in different. So keep following
Dinner: sometimes it was an ice-cream , sometimes it was just a croissant or even a small pizza or a small portion of pasta with chicken. Anyway the portion was not to large, so the number of calories there was not critical.

3.       Sun and tanning. A nicely tanned person (not extremely tanned) looks nice and visually slimmer (just because he/she is darker). But but but it is very important: tanning burns a lot of calories. It sounds fantastic but you sit and you get slimmer! Now I can explain that: because of the suns FAR infrared heat! It warms our body much deeper than any other thing promoting thermogenesis and metabolism.

Just 3 and a half weeks and I achieved desired result. I returned to my normal weight of that time of 55 kg (121 lbs.). My diet, my young age (21 at the moment) and not so old fat in my body helped me a lot. My next post will be about my magical slimming salad and then I will continue my diet stories.
